01 —Engineered Experience

In Exponent’s serum sets, the dry powder is housed in a custom precision dispenser. Users press this into their hand to dispense a precise amount of the active ingredient. The companion liquid activator is dispensed with a simple, measured pump. By combining both of these accurately dosed ingredients into one’s palm, then mixing and applying, the user receives more powerful results than pre-mixed and packaged skincare.

With our manufacturing partner, we engineered a unique powder dosing system that collects a perfect dose, and then dispenses it when pressed into the hand. It leaves behind a tidy little mound of potent active ingredients like Vitamin C, Retinol or CoQ10. An activator is dispensed from a matching bottle with a precision pump. The user then mixes these together in their palm and applies it to their skin.

We considered every step of this process, thinking of it as an easy and flexible ritual. The result is a perfect fusion of engineering, ergonomics and user experience.
