Miami-based pet hair removal product company UprootClean aims to be the one-stop shop for any and all pet hair related problems that pet owners face. UprootClean came to Tomorrow Lab to create a new version of their Mini product.
While the existing UprootClean Mini works great on hard fabrics like carpets, cat towers, and car mats, it struggles on delicate clothing, sweaters, and knitted fabrics like bedding & sofas. After initial research and prototyping, we devised two Mini products: the Mini Standard and Mini Pro. The Mini Standard would be the lower price option and meant for on-the-go use cases, while the Mini Pro would be the higher price option and meant for more repeated use over larger areas of clothing or furniture.
Through a diligent prototyping process, we discovered that combining polyester weave material with the UprootClean teeth could provide a tool with two cleaning modes, delivering a flexible solution to handle most fabric cleaning needs.
We also developed a method for the UprootClean teeth to clean the polyester material, creating a self-cleaning feature for the Uproot Pro.
