Aunt Flow
Menstrual product dispenser

Aunt Flow is on a mission to ensure everyone has access to quality menstrual products. The company works toward this goal by providing product dispensers to schools and businesses. After 1 year in the market, Aunt Flow turned to Tomorrow Lab to build version 2 of its wall-mounted dispenser.

Central to our brief was that the dispenser be wall-mounted and be easily installed and re-filled by janitorial staff. It also had to be rock-solid to endure high-traffic areas — like high school bathrooms, fit into education and corporate design aesthetics, and house only Aunt Flow products.

Our goal was to create ownable I.P. for the product around key functions like: anti-theft, easy loading, and a timed reset of the dispenser – so it would be sufficiently annoying for someone trying to take more than they need. After tearing down analogous products, we experimented with different dispensing mechanisms connected to a strong paddle. Including a roller drum, bistable pins, hook arms, and spring-loaded hook arms.
