Therm
Smart radiator thermostat

Steam radiators heat the majority of New York City’s apartments, yet they offer little control. Their binary nature (completely on or off) results in wild temperature swings from freezing or sweltering. Therm brings steam heat into the 21st century. A WiFi-connected device that retrofits existing steam radiators, it allows full temperature control.

The device saves energy — and money — while increasing comfort in your home. Tenants no longer have to control their home's heat by opening the window. Rather, Therm’s cloud-based algorithm helps predict the temperature and drive the device so users always get their desired temperature, no matter the external conditions.

02 —Product Architecture & Design

The Therm device works by trapping air in the radiator at precise times to control the amount of steam entering the radiator, thereby controlling your room’s temperature.

To maximize compatibility, we created two design variations to accomodate the two most common types of radiator outlet geometries.
